I will try to focus more on nature photography this year. Both black/white and in (techni)color. I feel that the lack of focus the past year hasn't been good for my photography skills (if any), which again hasn't exactly given me much confidence regarding my own photos.

A few weeks back I bougth a Canon 17-40mm f/4L USM lens to go along with my Canon 350D out in the (wild) norwegian nature. A L-series lens should at least survive if I encounter a polar bear, or even some polar beer. Some say that the lens really doesn't matter, but this one had such a nice red ring on it. I simply couldn't turn it down.
